Our recently spruced-up pub brings you all the hallmarks of a traditional British pub in the heart of Winchester, expect a properly warm welcome, great beers and ales, and gloriously good food to boot – as well as 10 charming bedrooms.

Think crafty pints (with a good chin wag thrown in) at the bar, sociable Winter cocktails by the fire, working lunches (where the food is as good as the WiFi) and the very best Sunday lunches, with all the trimmings (in Winchester, at least).

Our bedrooms are jam-packed with original features, hotel-y mod-cons, and some gorgeously characterful touches. Perfect for business trip stop-overs, or Hampshire staycations with the whole family (including your four-legged furry friends).

Meet The Landlord

Ben is the landlord of The Westgate, proudly making sure the pub is everything a proper local should be. Alongside his partner Emily – and their gorgeous dog, Lucy – he’s created a true cornerstone of the community.

Expect the warmest of Winchester welcomes from Ben and the whole crew. Join us for a pint, a bite to eat, and a properly good time.

Here at Westgate we’re super excited for the biggest sporting event of the year.
